    Occupied Palestinian Territories

    Local Partner, Samar Andoni, a social worker from the Evangelical Lutheran Schools received help from music therapist and Advisory Panel member, Hazel Childs, to prepare her to deliver a training and share her skills of using music with other teachers in the schools.

    A translated version of our ‘Children with Disabilities Musical Activities’ resource was shared with our Georgian Partners. Also music therapist and Advisory Panel member, Jenny Laahs, provided supervision for 3 music sessions ran by a Local Partner.

  • Online training: Music Helps Pilot (Hyderabad) 2021

    India

    The pilot phase of Music Helps, our music in dementia care online training tool in India. This course was developed by music therapist and Advisory Panel member, Nina Cherla, in response to a project request from Pavithra Gangadharan, Founder of Kshetra Assisted Living by Heritage ElderCare Services Pvt. Ltd, to help make music an integral part of dementia care provision across care facilities and homes in India.

  • Follow-up Visit: The Children’s Trust (Tadworth) 2021

    We returned to The Children’s Trust (Tadworth, Surrey), to support staff with their ongoing use of music following the introductory training project delivered earlier in the year. Sharing successes, developing practice and troubleshooting.

    A 6-week field project with Caol Primary School, to benefit primary age children in mainstream education whose mental health/ASN needs have been impacted by the Covid-19 Lockdown.

    The second of 3 planned training events which will see staff from 11 settings access introductory training and a starter set of musical instruments in 2021. The first training event took place in Muhanga towards the end of 2020.
