    The 5th delivery of training delivered through our Distance Learning Model, this course comprised a series of 7 monthly tutorials and written assignments, participation in an Intensive Study Weekend – hosted by our partners from the Day Centre ‘Sf. Maria’ in Cluj – and a supervised Practical Assignment. The course can accommodate up to 12 practitioners interested to learn how they can use music within the care and/or edication they provide for young children with disabilities in different care settings around the country.

  • Support visits: Romania 2013

    We travelled extensively in Romania this year, returning to visit our partners from 1998 to the present in all corners of the country. Our visits took us to Bacau, Bistrita, Cighid, Cluj, Constanta, Oradea, Ploiesti, Sibiu, Targu Mures,Techirghiol,Timisoara and Vaslui where we had the opportunity to observe music sessions, evaluate current practice, provide guidance and support, and canvass local views on how we could develop the training and support we offer.

    Further Romanian partners worked with us to have their own music training courses evaluated by Music as Therapy International. Once we had approved their training content in dialogue over a number of months, we awarded 2 partner teams “Recommended Trainer” status.

  • Musical instrument fund: Romania 2012

    Romania

    We were delighted to donate new musical insturments to a local partner who had been using music since training with us in 1998. The request came as she embarked on working in a new setting and needed the resources to enable her to embed music into her work with children with autistic spectrum disorders in Bacau.

    We created a mechanism through which our partners could apply to have their own music training courses evaluated by Music as Therapy International. Once we had approved their training content – typically in dialogue over a number of months – partners were awarded “Recommended Trainer” status.

    Romania

    We were delighted to award a Discretionary Grant to one of our local partners, as she set up a new setting providing support to children with disabilities in Timisoara. The grant comprised the donation of musical insturments to equip Centru Vivart and to enable our local partner to embed music sessions into the centre’s timetable.

    The pilot delivery of training delivered through our Distance Learning Model, hosted by our partners from the Day Centre ‘Sf. Maria’ in Cluj – and a supervised Practical Assignment. The course was designed in response to the emergence of smaller care settings as a result of nationwide reforms of statutory care provision, and can accommodate up to 12 practitioners interested to learn how they can use music within the care and/or edication they provide for young children with disabilities in different care settings around the country.
