    Jordan

    Our second delivery of the Distance Learning model in Jordan in partnership with Musicians Without Borders. The course comprises a series of 7 monthly tutorials and written assignments, participation in an Intensive Study Weekend and a supervised Practical Assignment.

  • Conference Participation: World Congress of Music Therapy (Canada) 2023

    Other International

    Instead of attending the World Congress of Music Therapy in person as we have done before, in 2023 we have four electronic Posters appearing at the congress. Three of the ePosters are focused on the use of music in some of the countries where we are active and are co-created with Partners from Georgia, India and Rwanda, and some of our Advisory Panel members. The fourth ePoster is focused on our international Partner survey report published in 2021.

    This is the first year that the delivery of the Distance Learning course will be in partnership with AsociaČ›ia “Sound Art E-Motion” after the course was awarded local accreditation in Romania in 2022.

    United Kingdom

    Following the successful pilot of our Music Helps online training tool in India, we have been exploring its potential for adaptation relevant to a multicultural UK dementia care context. The development of Music Helps (UK) will be integral to our UK Programme in 2023-24.

  • Online training: Music Helps (India) 2022

    India

    The rollout phase of Music Helps started organically in early 2022 in partnership with Kshetra Assisted Living by Heritage ElderCare Services Pvt. Ltd. to help make music an integral part of dementia care provision across care facilities and homes more widely in India and for people living with dementia and of Indian heritage in other countries.

  • Follow up visit: Open House (Kutaisi) 2022

    Georgia

    Music Therapist Tamar Zhordania returned to Open House in Kutaisi, Georgia, for our follow up visit to support staff from the 7-week on-site skill-sharing project earlier in 2022.

    Rwanda

    The final of 3 planned training events which will see staff from 7 settings access introductory training and a starter set of musical instruments in 2022. The first training event took place in Muhanga in 2020 and the second training event took place in Rusizi in 2021.
