  • On-site skill-sharing: Ledera Day Centre (Oradea) 2000

    Romania

    This 6-week project was delivered in response to a request from the non-governmental organisation Asociatia Down Oradea Romania so that they might incorporate music into their work with children and adults with Down Syndrome who attended their Day Centre ‘Iedera’ in Oradea.

  • Follow-up visits: Timisoara & Cluj 2000

    We returned to spend one week with our partners at Centru de Art-Terapie ‘Eliza Ionescu and Centru de Recuperare si Educatie Speciala ‘Speranta’ (Timisoara) and Centrul de Zi ‘Sf. Maria’ (Cluj) to support their continued use of music following our introductory training the previous year. Sharing successes, developing practice and trouble shooting!

  • Lecture Series: Universitatea de Vest 1999

    Romania

    Provision of a series of lectures across one week, introducing pyschology undergraduates at the Universitatea de Vest (Timisoara) to the clinical practice of music therapy.

  • On-site skill-sharing: Centru de Zi ‘Sf. Maria’ (Cluj) 1999

    Romania

    This 6-week project was the first project which trained local staff to use music with both children and adults with learning disabilities who were attending the parent-led non-governmental Centru de Zi ‘Sf. Maria’.

  • On-site skill-sharing: Fundatia de Sprijin Comunitar (Bacau) 1998

    Romania

    Working with Fundatia de Sprijin Comunitar (FSC) and the Relief Fund for Romania, we spent 6 weeks with FSC staff introducing them to ways they could use music in 3 care settings in and around Bacau: Gradinita Speciala, Camin Spital de Neuropsihiatrie Raciuni and Leagan No.2.

    We returned to our partners at the Camin Spital pentru Copii Irecuperabil, Ungureni to assess the extent to which our introductory training project had had a sustainable impact for the staff and children; we undertook visits at over 20 different care settings across Romania to assess the level of demand for the training we were offering.
