    Rwanda

    We returned to our partners at the Noel de Nyundo Orphanage and Ubumwe Community Centre, beneficiaries of our Introductory Training Project in 2014, to share their successes, provide professional guidance and trouble shoot within a 1-week follow-up visit.

  • Structured training: Interactive Music-Making (London) 2015

    United Kingdom

    The 4th delivery of our Interactive Music-Making structured training for early years practitioners in London. Accredited by the University of Greenwich and delivered in partnership with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, the course comprised a series of 12 weekly seminars, a practical assignment and a written assignment.

    United Kingdom

    A 2-year research project to identify the potential role for Music as Therapy International here in the UK. This ultimately led to the launch of our Bringing It All Back Home Programme in 2016.

  • Support visit: Public School No.200 (Tbilisi) 2014

    Georgia

    We returned to our partners at Public School N.200 (Tbilisi) for a short visit to provide professional support to the teachers who had continued using music since originally receiving training from us in 2011.

  • On-site skill-sharing: Public School No.198 and Parent’s Bridge Centre (Tbilisi) 2014

    Georgia

    Shared across two settings in Tbilisi, this 6-week training project provideed training to teachers at Public School No.198 and staff at the Parent’s Bridge centre for children and adults with learning disablities in Tbilisi.

  • Distance learning programme: Romania 2014

    Romania

    The 5th delivery of training delivered through our Distance Learning Model, this course comprised a series of 7 monthly tutorials and written assignments, participation in an Intensive Study Weekend – hosted by our partners from the Day Centre ‘Sf. Maria’ in Cluj – and a supervised Practical Assignment. The course can accommodate up to 12 practitioners interested to learn how they can use music within the care and/or edication they provide for young children with disabilities in different care settings around the country.

  • World Congress: Cultural Diversity in Music Therapy Practice, Research and Education, Austria 2014

  • On-site skill-sharing: Noel de Nyundo Orphanage and Ubumwe Community Centre (Gisenyi) 2014

    Rwanda

    A 6-week project, delivered in partnership with Hope and Homes and The Gallagher Trust, providing training to staff caring for children and young adults with disabiltieis at the Noel de Nyundo Orphanage and Ubumwe Community Centre in Gisenyi, near Rwanda’s border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This project had been deferred from 2013 as a result of local unrest.

  • Conference Participation: Counterpoints: Music Therapy Practice in the 21st Century 2014

    United Kingdom

    Our Director, Alexia Quin, was invited to give one of the key note presentations at this year’s British Association for Music Therapy conference, held in Birmingham. Her paper was entitled “Embedding Innovation into the Counterpoint of Music Therapy Practice Today” and was subsequently published in the British Journal of Music Therapy.
