Another group of 4 practitioners have been identified from the Music Therapy Center in Tbilisi to receive supervision from an international, professionally-trained Music Therapist, to continue to strengthen their provision of services for children with disabilities.

Our second delivery of the Distance Learning model in Georgia in collaboration with Georgian Music Therapist, Tamar (Tako) Jordania. The course comprises a series of 8 monthly tutorials and written assignments, participation in an Intensive Study Weekend and a supervised Practical Assignment.

The opportunity for supervision was offered to an identified group of 4 practitioners who were initially internally trained at the Music Therapy Center in Tbilisi. This is following the request of the center’s director, Teona Kacheishvili, who believes the involvement of her staff in supervision from an international, professionally-trained music therapist, will strengthen their provision of services.

A translated version of our ‘Children with Disabilities Musical Activities’ resource was shared with our Georgian Partners. Also music therapist and Advisory Panel member, Jenny Laahs, provided supervision for 3 music sessions ran by a Local Partner.

We offered a workshop and on-site support to our partners at Public School #200, Public School #198 and the Parents Bridge centre.

We were delighted to contrbute to Georgia’s first Music Therapy Conference organised by our partners at the Music Therapy Centre in Tbilisi on World Music Therapy Day. The conference theme was ‘Music Unites’ and it was attended by over 55 people, including representatives from the Ministry of Education, parents of beneficiaries and practitioners from other towns in Georgia.
