At the end of 2021, we launched Music Helps (India), our online music and dementia course. A year later, we spoke to 32 participants about how they have been using music with people living with dementia since completing the course and its impact on the care they provide.
The course has proved to have a sustainable impact on our participants and the people in their care as they have continued to use the music techniques and tools introduced to them in the course within their daily care routine. The majority of students shared with us that using music has made the care they provide more enjoyable for themselves and for the person living with dementia.
100% of participants said that what they learnt from Music Helps has helped them get to know the person living with dementia better. Participants have been using various techniques to build conversations, connect with the people in their care and carry out their daily care tasks.
