As part of our ongoing commitment to support local practitioners in Georgia, the upcoming Intensive Study Training (IST) offers the teachers participating in the course two days of practical learning through which they will to deepen their understanding of using music with children with disabilities and explore the necessary musical skills and resources. Hosted by the Tbilisi State Conservatoire, our Georgian Course leader, Tako and music therapist Jenny Laahs, will guide participants through a weekend of interactive workshops and practical activities.

Their teaching will include focused discussions, case studies, and collaborative exercises designed to address real-life challenges in music sessions. Course participants will connect with their peers and share insights, gaining new perspectives and practical techniques they can bring to their own settings. The training also emphasizes reflective practice, inviting attendees to critically engage with the ways music techniques can impact the children they work with.  We hope the weekend will inspire the course participants as they progress through the Distance Learning Programme and work towards putting their learning into practice with the children at their schools.

I expected to develop more and gain much needed knowledge and experience and, I did.
