We are delighted to welcome the participants of the 15th edition of the Distance Learning Programme “Therapeutic Work with Music for Children with Disabilities”, offered by Music as Therapy International in partnership with the Romanian associations “Sound Art E-Motion” and CoMusica. This course is accredited and offers 50 credits offered by COPSI (The College of Psychologists).

We are pleased to have participants from all over Romania and are delighted to welcome another participant from Chisinau, for the second consecutive year. It is a great joy to have professionals from the Republic of Moldova interested in our course.

The 2025 DLP participants met last week on Zoom to get to know each other and the course moderators. During the meeting, they had the opportunity to share their professional experiences, discuss course expectations, and ask questions about the first Written Assignment.

Monika Manases, Moderator, and Larisa Neculai, Coordinator, provided an overview of the key elements of the course and practical tips for navigating the learning materials. They also reassured the participants of their availability to offer support and guidance throughout the course.

Music as Therapy International wishes good luck to all 2025 participants and hopes they will have a positive learning journey.

Our Distance Learning Programme comprises a Theoretical and a Practical Part. In the first 8 months of the course, participants receive monthly Online Tutorials and complete a series of Written Assignments which help them develop a deep understanding of some theoretical concepts in music therapy.

In September, students attend an in-person Intensive Study Training Weekend provided by the local course team: Monika Manases, moderator (psychologist and SEN Teacher), Larisa Neculai, coordinator (music therapist, UK), and Eleonora Rosca, supervisor (music therapist, Oradea).

Following the Intensive Study Training Weekend, students transfer all their learning into practice by leading 8 music sessions with a group of children with disabilities.

For me, the Intensive Study Training was the ‘key’ to the doors I needed to open in the 8 practical sessions.
