The last session of the skillsharing project in Wales has now taken place, and what a triumph! Before the session began, I was presented with a plan drafted by the session leaders Penny and Jayne. Jayne had increased in confidence, and had brought her guitar along to accompany the Greeting and Good Bye songs. It was really super to see how much the children loved this; it added so much to the session! After some lovely activities using instruments, the guitar was brought out again for a rendition of “I’m the King of the Jungle” from Junglebook while the group members played various instruments such as drums and tambourines. After the good bye song, Jayne and Penny were presented with their certificates – well deserved and very much appreciated!
We look forward to visiting Oaklands in the near future to see how they are getting on with their music sessions – watch this space!
