We’re excited to announce our latest UK introductory training project, in partnership with Invernevis House, in the Scottish Highlands!
Invernevis House is an NHS Highland Care Home in Fort William, managed by Claire Cameron, who is a strong believer in the power of music to change care.
Clare Reynolds (nee Sargent) will be training six members of staff to use music with residents living with dementia, over a period of six weeks – with the project culminating during BBC Music Week. Today she conducted an ‘Initial Visit’ to Invernevis House, to meet staff, get to know the setting and workshop some ideas. Next Wednesday, music sessions begin.
We’ll keep you up to date with blogs and pictures from Clare. Meanwhile, learn a bit more about how our partners at Invernevis raised money for the residents’ fund (which funds projects like this) with a day of musical activities and fun, here (photo by The Oban Times).
