The teaching seminars are so useful to every aspect of working with children, not just in music sessions.

2022 Interactive Music-Making student

Delivered in association with Music as Therapy International, Nordoff and Robbins, North London Music Therapy, Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, and Quaggy Development Trust, the course is available to all early years practitioners interested in using music to enhance the social, emotional and cognitive development of children under five.

No prior musical skills are required; our unique training course teaches practitioners how to run targeted music sessions using techniques drawn from music therapy.

Free training for Eligible Practitioners

Full course fees are £725. Our Interactive Music-Making Award remains available to a limited number of practitioners applying from an early years setting, offering a fully funded course place, a set of instruments to equip your early years setting, and a contribution to travel and staff cover costs. Applicants who aren’t eligible for an Interactive Music-Making Award and who cannot meet the full course fees can request a subsidised place.

This year, managers can also apply to reserve a place for one practitioner at their setting via an Expression of Interest form. Their named practitioner can be confirmed in early September.

I have loved taking part in IMM and would recommend it to anyone.
