We are now accepting applications for our next Interactive Music-Making course, beginning in September 2024. Suitable for Early Years practitioners working with under 5s, the course teaches a unique, child-centred approach to music-making, with techniques drawn from music therapy.
No prior musical skills are necessary; the course is open to all early years practitioners interested in using music to support the social, emotional and cognitive development of children under five.
We are delighted that this year’s programme will be delivered in Association with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, North London Music Therapy CIC, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Nordoff and Robbins, and Quaggy Development Trust.
The course consists of 11 weekly practice-based seminars (Fridays, 12pm-3pm), from September to December 2024, held in South-East London. Following this, students will be supported to deliver their own series of Interactive Music-Making sessions in their own settings between January and March 2025.
Incorporating Interactive Music-Making into our curriculum is a delightful and thoughtful way for children to develop essential social skills… they build a strong foundation for future learning.
