Congratulations to Nino Bokuchava, Mariam Gogebashvili, Davit Aladashvili and Natia Kufaradze from the Music Therapy Center in Tbilisi for completing the opportunity for supervision we have offered them over the past five months. We have been impressed by their dedication to exploring how music can be used with the 42 children with disabilities they support, their thoughtful reflections on their work and their commitment to strengthening their practice.

All participants have told us the supervision has equipped them with new techniques, increasing their confidence to run music sessions and that reflecting of their own work as well as their peer’s work with music has been some of the most valuable experiences of the supervision process.

This Supervision course increased both my confidence and motivation to try harder and improve my practice.

Nino Bokuchava

I learnt that listening to participants needs and preferences make therapy effective. …Every thought about music therapy was strengthening my music sessions. For example, every step must be musical, therapist must give child leading role and make him/her the star of the show, we must play with sounds and creativity.

Mariam Gogebashvili

I’ve learned techniques for improvisation, allowing for more spontaneous and creative musical interactions during our sessions. These techniques not only enhance our musical experiences but also deepen our connection and enjoyment of music together.

Natia Kufaradze

We are extremely grateful to Music Therapist Jenny Laahs for her expert guidance, to Lela Ghudushauri for her co-ordination during this collaboration, and to Eliso Gvasalia for her support with translation.
