We are thrilled to introduce Involving Parents in Interactive Music-Making Sessions: Opportunities and Considerations, a brand-new resource developed by Sarah Hadley, following her inspiring CPD session at our summer IMM event. This booklet is packed with insights, concepts and practical approaches for Interactive Music-Makers looking to foster stronger family support networks through music. At the heart of our theory of change is the belief that empowering those closest to children—such as parents and caregivers—creates an enduring, sustainable and positive impacts on their growth and well-being.
Sarah’s booklet is more than just a guide; it’s a practical toolkit that reflects our commitment to equipping practitioners with the knowledge to engage families in meaningful ways. Designed with hands-on exercises and adaptable approaches, this resource encourages parents to participate actively in their children’s musical journey. It aligns with our strategic focus on capacity-building, supporting practitioners to create sustainable, accessible therapeutic practices that centre around the family.
This resource is available for download, and we encourage practitioners, caregivers, and anyone interested in music as a tool for familial support to explore it. Through collaborative work like Sarah’s, we continue to champion the belief that music in care is a bridge to deepen understanding, build resilience and make impactful change.
