Strengthening capacity is rarely a quick fix, but takes a huge amount of motivation, perseverance and commitment. Because of this, it’s always a great feeling when we see it in action, because nothing encapsulates our approach more than when our Partners take full ownership of their activities.
With that in mind, we’re extremely happy to let you know the latest development from our Partners in Rwanda. Pioneers Audace Musoni, Fidele Nshimiye and Alphonsine Musabyemariyam (pictured below) have taken their training partnership to the next level by formally registering as an association with the Rwandan government.
We decided to create an association to do our activities in a sustainable way.
Working under the name ‘Youth Led Musical Therapy’, and joined by Jean Paul Ndemeye (pictured above) as their Deputy Legal Representative, they will continue to provide Locally-led Training to caregivers around the country and champion the use of music within care.
This incredible news is the latest instalment in their journey with us, which dates back as far as our first Introductory Training activity in Rwanda all the way back in 2010, and includes the locally led training workshops they delivered between 2020 – 2022, reaching 59 caregivers from 29 care settings around the country.
A huge congratulations to the team of our amazing Rwandan Partners!
